There are places where the light barely reaches the ground, where darkness grows denser and silence seems to create a space of its own. That is where mushrooms appear, hidden among moss and shadows: small figures emerging from the earth, visible for only a short time.<\/p>\n
Mushrooms are not plants. They form a kingdom of life of their own. Beneath the forest floor, their fine threads form a hidden network connecting life and decay, sustaining nature's cycle. What we see above ground is only a brief expression of that concealed world, a fleeting glimpse of a quiet presence.<\/p>\n
In my photography I look for exactly that moment. Not the harsh light of day, but the subtle shades between light and darkness. The forest gives the mushrooms an aura that makes them seem larger than life. To reveal these mysterious forms, I used an external light source, creating a play of light and shadow that gives them an almost otherworldly appearance.<\/p>\n
Bei der Pilzfotografie hilft mir ein dunkler Hintergrund, das Motiv vom unruhigen Waldboden zu l\u00f6sen. Die zus\u00e4tzliche Beleuchtung richte ich gezielt auf den Pilz, statt den gesamten Bildausschnitt aufzuhellen. So bleiben seine feinen Formen erkennbar, w\u00e4hrend die Umgebung zur\u00fccktritt. \u00c4hnlich arbeite ich beim Fotografieren von Farn<\/a>: Auch dort entscheidet das gezielte Licht dar\u00fcber, welche kleinen Formen sich aus dem Wald l\u00f6sen.<\/p>\n For me, mysterious forest photography means entering into that stillness. Less literal depiction than feeling, less documentation than interpretation. A mushroom among the moss becomes a guardian, two in the shadows become a conversation, a single glow becomes a flame in the dark.<\/p>\n Perhaps that is their magic: they reveal the richness of seemingly insignificant things.
