SELECTED WORK · FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY FROM NORWAY
A few rocks lie in an almost boundless expanse of pale water. Their small silhouettes form a delicate, irregular line on the horizon. This photograph needs nothing more.
When Less Tells More
What fascinates me most about this photograph is the space between the stones. The long exposure takes the movement out of the sea, leaving just a few forms behind. What would otherwise be a lively coastal landscape becomes a quiet sequence of points, pauses and light.
The eye can move unhurriedly from stone to stone. Even the smallest interruption in this line takes on meaning. For me, this is one of the most beautiful possibilities of fine art photography: turning an everyday scene into something that only reveals itself when we look for longer.
