BEHIND THE IMAGES · PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECTS

Every project begins with an encounter. Sometimes it is a wide, almost deserted landscape, sometimes just a stone, a tree, or a brief glimpse of light. What emerges often becomes clear only when I take the time to look more closely.

Here you can explore the stories behind my photographs: the journey to each subject, the accompanying films, the photographic challenges, and the images made along the way.

Misty barren mountain landscape in the Norwegian Sunndalsfjella

Where Little Happens

Two days among mist, rocks, and the vastness of an uninhabited landscape.

Stony Norwegian coast with countless shapes and textures

Among the Stones

A stony beach that only reveals its hidden shapes when you look closer.

Quiet Norwegian coastline shortly before sunrise

Before Awakening

An empty beach and the few hours before a new day begins.

Mountain lake reflecting a Norwegian landscape

Still Mountain Lake

A quiet mountain lake where the boundary between landscape and reflection fades.

Fine Art woodland photograph with delicate light in a dark forest

Fragments of the Forest

Small discoveries in the forest, briefly drawn from darkness by the light.

Dark coastal rocks surrounded by softly blurred Norwegian sea water

Stillness in the Water: The Time Between Waves

The sea keeps changing, the stones remain. A reflection on stillness and time.

Abandoned shipwreck on a Norwegian coast in warm morning light

The Wreck: Where Time Becomes Visible

An abandoned boat, its forms shaped by wind, salt, and passing years.

Bright waterfall cascading between dark rock walls

The Waterfall

A play of dark rock, bright water, and movement that never ends.

Red fisherman's house beside calm reflective Norwegian coastal water

The Fisherman's House: Between Light and Reflection

A red house, its reflection, and the vast emptiness around it.

Weathered bare trees standing beneath moving clouds

The Dead Trees

Bare trunks beneath drifting clouds, stillness, and traces of a life long past.
