A dead tree rises into the sky above a low line of trees. Its bare branches stand out against the stretched clouds.
The Shape of a Life That Has Passed
The tree is no longer what it once was. Yet it still has a presence of its own. The lines of its branches look almost like a drawing, while the sky seems to drift past in the long exposure.
Subjects like this make me think about the relationship between change and endurance. Much around this trunk continues to live, move and grow. The tree itself remains as a form. In black and white, the contrast becomes particularly clear: a single pale trunk holding its ground against the dark sky.
