A single purple bellflower hangs in soft light. Numerous raindrops rest on its petals, revealing delicate outlines and transitions of colour.
A Small Form in an Open Space
What I like about this photograph is the fragility of the subject. The flower bends downwards, while the green stems draw just a few lines across the background. The rest of the surroundings dissolve into a gentle blur.
The contrast with my darker photographs is clear, yet the idea behind it remains the same: giving a small detail enough room. The light is restrained and the colours are quiet. An image that stays gentle and asks for attention precisely because of that.
