SELECTED WORK · FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY FROM NORWAY
A red fisherman's house stands at the edge of an almost motionless expanse of water. A bright sky opens above it; below, a second, mirrored house appears.
One Subject, Two Realities
The building is familiar and easy to recognise. For me, the scene becomes interesting through the deep calm surrounding it. The empty sky, the dark coastline and the reflection divide the subject into a few distinct forms.
The colour of the house adds a deliberate accent to an otherwise restrained landscape. Nothing else needs to happen here. The reflection already tells its own story: of a moment when the water is so still that it almost doubles the world.
Behind the Work
The photography project "The Fisherman's House" explores the effect of light, the reflection in the water and a deliberately reduced composition.
