When the sun stands low, the world changes. A warm glow settles over the landscape, colours soften, shadows grow longer, and outlines begin to blur. This is the golden hour, when even everyday scenes take on a special depth.
This light can transform ordinary places. A beach, a meadow or a forest path: everything takes on a different character when the sun turns the sky gold and bathes the ground in a quiet glow.
I made this photograph beside a fjord, where the water shows the sun twice: once high in the sky and again as a reflection below. The mountains in the background fade into layers of blue and grey, while the warm light transforms the moment into a peaceful image.
At this time of year, the golden hour has a particular intensity. It lasts for less time than in summer, but the light feels more concentrated. Colours glow more warmly, the atmosphere is richer, and each moment feels like a gift because it passes so quickly.
For me, the golden hour is more than a photographic term. It is an invitation to pause and look more closely. Beauty reveals itself in passing, and each brief moment carries a kind of magic that a camera can preserve for only an instant.
