The morning was still young, and the beach lay empty before me. Above the water, the sky kept changing. Patches of brightness opened between heavy clouds, while a light breeze brushed across the sand, carrying the clear sea air towards me.
The waves arrived in a slow rhythm. Their sound was steady, almost soothing. Every movement seemed part of a quiet rhythm that had begun long before I arrived.
The stones stood between sand and water. Some were covered in green moss; others disappeared beneath the small waves again and again. The large rock in the centre looked like a silent guardian. Firmly rooted, shaped by the sea, and seemingly untouched by everything moving around it.
With the long exposure, the water lost its visible restlessness. Individual waves merged into a soft surface, giving the moment a stillness that I could only briefly sense while standing there. The sea seemed almost weightless, while the stones remained clear and enduring.
For me, moments like these are more than opportunities to take photographs. Standing alone by the water, feeling the wind and consciously taking in the stillness of nature, I feel a sense of harmony. For a while, everything else fades away.
These moments feel essential to me. They create distance from everyday life, bring my thoughts into focus, and remind me how little it sometimes takes to truly feel again. Only in that stillness do I realise how valuable these experiences are, and how much beauty can lie in a simple morning by the sea.
For a moment, the beach seemed to exist outside time. There was only the wind, the subdued light, and the steady sound of the waves.
A quiet morning, before the world grew louder again.
