A Sign in Colour

Amid the urban grey, between bare shrubs and concrete, stand benches painted in the colours of the rainbow.
A place to rest, and at the same time a quiet but powerful statement.

A rainbow is more than a sequence of colours. It stands for diversity, love and the right to live as you are. Every person matters.

In a world that often seems to be closing itself off again, where prejudice grows louder, symbols of acceptance and openness matter more than ever.

The photograph plays with contrast. The surroundings are deliberately desaturated and almost colourless, drawing the eye towards what matters: the bright colours of the bench. A fast shutter speed keeps the image clear and focused. A still moment, frozen, yet full of meaning.

The restrained palette of the surroundings makes the symbol stand out even more, as if it were saying: You belong here, just as you are.

This bench is more than street furniture. It expresses a conviction, and hope.
