A piece of art stands at the foot of a waterfall. The place is not always accessible: during the summer months, the water rushes through here with much greater force. Getting close becomes harder, and the view is obscured.
Now it is different. The flow is still gentle. The place feels open, almost as though it is revealing something normally hidden.
That is what makes this photograph so interesting to me. It does not show the obvious, but what becomes visible before everything comes to life. While something is still dormant.
The figure stands quietly in the space, almost lost among rock and water.
A human mark in an environment that pays it no attention. Nature and the traces of people meet here. Without transition. Without explanation.
I do not find it particularly beautiful. But there is something honest about that.
Something that remains.

Wow, this is amazing and to me, just a bit creepy as well. Love it!

Thank you, John. That slight sense of unease was part of what made the scene so interesting.
