A single flower, gently inclined and still covered in droplets from the mist, shows that delicacy is not the same as weakness. There is a quiet strength in its fragility, one that tells me more than even the most imposing mountain range.
This bellflower stands in the fog like a small sign of endurance, a reminder that beauty lives in the unassuming. Its soft violet colour emerges from the grey background as though it were saying: I am still here, even when the world around me fades into mist.
For me, this way of seeing is what makes photography so special: discovering the small within the vast, the quiet within the noise. I took this photograph last autumn on a mountain pass, on a cool, damp day. Perhaps that is why it now fills me with anticipation for the autumn ahead, for fog, rain and those still moments when delicacy and strength meet so unexpectedly.
